Independent Skate Clothing
It's not very often that a brand can say they took their inspiration for a logo from the Alisee. Often mistaken for the Iron Cross, the image came out in 1979 when Pope John Paul II was wearing the icon on his vestment on the cover of TIME magazine June 18, 1979. It has remained the Independent logo since inception.
The Independent Truck Company was established in 1978 by founders Jay Shiurman, Richard Novak, Eric Swenson and Fausto Vitello. Based in Santa Cruz, California, Indy was created in response to the lack of decent trucks on the market. According to original team rider Rick Blackhart, the brand filled a gap that others had created as of its two main competitor's trucks, one didn't turn and the other broke.
Today, Independent is one of the world's leading truck companies, with a reputation than any brand would be stoke to have. ExtremePie.com is proud to stock a huge range of Independent products.
